This is a disco-electronic piece, an exhortation for peace, especially in times when the memory of war’s horrors seems to be slipping out of our collective memory. Paradoxically, the track revolves around a musical riff that owes something to Ennio Morricone and the Spaghetti Westerns, with a rhythm that at times evokes ABBA and at others Donna Summer.
The exhortation converges on a single line that works almost as a leitmotif: “take a chance on love.” Thematically, this song goes hand in hand with my other track “Utopia, Dystopia,” since it’s an invitation, almost naive but hopeful, to bet on love with the same impulsiveness with which we normally bet on fear.
