After “Akuda!” I wanted to see how far I could push the same experiment in the opposite direction. If one metal song with an invented language could sound like a clenched fist, could another sound like a hymn? That’s really all “Durka Narka” is: a second invented language built to answer that question, not to say anything in particular.
I leaned on purpose into diacritics and clustered consonants, ř, the little hook, syllables like “Irřu” and “sygida,” because I wanted something that felt carved rather than sung, closer to a primitive phonology from some bygone world than to the Latin roots I’d used before.
“Kugh” is maybe the only word with something like a translation: “pride.” Beyond that, all you can make out is a tribal hymn whose exact meaning is left open to free interpretation.
Musically, the sea of Artificial Intelligence handed us a gem, offering an unusual dialogue between electric guitar and ancestral flute. A rock piece that invokes a tribal feeling. Worth noting that in post-production the audio takes were enriched with additional vocals (mine included), extra drum touches, and a few special effects.
So, turn up the volume and enjoy “Durka Narka”!
