Akuda!

This is the result of an experiment: trying to build an industrial metal track that would sound, on one hand, like a clenched fist, and on the other, like a deformed creature out of a Tim Burton film. The lyrics are written in a fictional language, germanic-looking on the surface but built from words with a Latin ring to them, like “Sapiam” and “Stupidiam.” The one thing I can say for certain is that in this macaronic tongue, the word “Akuda” names those with a charismatic facade but nothing inside: the basic ingredient of the corrupt politician. So the song is, underneath, a subliminal critique, one that anyone who’s lived under one of these figures can recognize (or at least sense).

Now, though, who the fist closes against is no longer up to me. It’s up to you.

So lace up your boots, turn up the volume, and get ready to mosh to “Akuda!”
